Único filme brasileiro selecionado para o 15º CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival em Toronto no Canadá, para o Jacksonville Film Festival e para o Seattle's True Independent Film Festival 2009, “Pelo Ouvido” de Joaquim Haickel, é também um dos quatro filmes brasileiros no Seattle International Film Festival e foi um dos cinco finalistas na sessão de curtas do Syracuse International Film Festival, todos nos Estados Unidos.
“Pelo Ouvido” acaba de ser selecionado também para o CINESUL – Festival Ibero-Americano de Cinema e Vídeo em sua 16ª edição que se realizara no Rio de Janeiro.
Já no CINE PE – Festival do Audiovisual 2009 o filme maranhense não obteve nenhum troféu, mas, no entanto, teve uma grande receptividade por parte do incrível publico pernambucano.
